The Blu House | La Casa Blu
is a 100sqm self-catering house with private garden & sea view. It is located in the sea town of Finale (via pizzo spina 1), 15 mins from the busy Cefalu, 10 mins from the little known historical picturesque mountain village of Pollina & a few steps to the stunning Tyrrhenian Sea.
The Space - our casa blu was one of the first houses built in the area by a colonel in the Italian army who lived there with his wife. He built the house with blue bricks to reflect the colour of the sea and planted various fruit trees to match each season of the year. 'Pizzo Spina' translates as a 'pointed thorn' and depicts correctly the upright position of the house facing out to the sea.

An Holiday House in Sicily
The property is a self-catering apartment, 100sqm within an Italian villa with 1 kitchen, 1 large living room, 1 bathroom (shower), 1 spacious sized bedroom, 1 cot, 2 free bicycles, private parking, and a beautiful garden to relax and enjoy the stunning sea views.
The villa in Finale is located in a very tranquil setting and is accessible to all the town amenities.
We can accommodate a max of 2 adults with 1 to 2 children under the age of 6 years old in a cot and/or small bed.
Guest Access
Guests have access to our garden with lots of trees from lemon, orange, apricot, figs, nespolo, vegetable patch (tomatoes, aubergines, cherry tomatoes, mint, basil, chilli, courgette, peppers) and even our own grape plant.
Plus full outdoor area and 1 inside car park canopy, ++ stunning sea views and private gardens.
Interaction with Guests
Although we (the owners) are not there to greet you personally, you will definitely feel our spirit and love for the house, garden and Sicily in general. We can certainly help advise you by email on where to go and on any queries you may have. My father Rosario and mother Piña will most likely meet you. They have big hearts but not much English! They love speaking Italian in a loud voice because they think that way you understand them :)
We leave an information folder in the apartment on things to see and do in the area.
If you love olive trees, my father rejoices in showing people his bit of land in the countryside :)
The Neighbourhood
Discover Sicily, Visit Cefalu, Visit Castelbuono, Visit Pollina, Visit Santo Stefano, Visit Palermo. Our town of Finale is centrally located for easy access to all of the above places. The town itself is quiet, relaxing (not many tourists) and has a couple of pizzerias, cafes and shops. It also has magical sea views from the tower!
There are two local popular beaches. One is a 10 minute walk from our house (rocky) and the other is either 20 mins walking or a couple of mins in the car. The second beach is sandy, spacious and has car parking facilities. There is also access to a very rocky beach walking distance from our house, just close to the tower, but very good for snorkeling!u

Things to Do Around Finale
Finale has bus connections to Cefalu, Palermo, and Pollina. It also has a train station which is a 10 minute walk from the centre of the town. However, if you want to explore more of Sicily you are really best to hire a car. We have private car parking onsite. Because our house is located in the centre of Finale, you can walk to the local pizzerias, shops and have a few drinks at the cafe/bars!
Other Things to Note
La Torre is the main square in Finale which allows you to admire the coastal view of our beautiful Sicilian landscape, meet, eat, and enjoy a few drinks with good company and the aim to sit back and let everything pass you by. We sometimes drive to Cefalu or Castelbuono for a couple of hours shopping or walk but we are always so glad to return back to the peace and tranquility of Finale and our enviable sea views!
You will find that not too many people speak English in Sicily in general. We wouldn't see this as being a problem as you will find yourselves quickly emerged in the fascinating culture and language! However, a dictionary is always handy!
